I really like the idea of using short term memory to remember a path and follow it. It reminds me a lot of a mario galaxy level, where there's a flash of light that illuminates the completely dark level level and then for a few seconds its dark before another flash. The difference to this being that you can still move while its dark. I think the waiting when the thunder happens breaks the game feel. Its also a bit sad that you can only see a very small part of the level when the thunder strikes, and there's not a lot of obstacles so you basically just go forward. I think it would be better to have a bigger part of the level illuminated and actually have a maze, and also being able to move all the time. So the player will go blind for a few seconds, then lightning strucks and you can see the level for a seconds and have to remember it. If you want to keep the pathdrawing, maybe lightning could struck while the mouse is moving, just before the end of the path? So that theres no waiting time and a better flow.
I think there was a bug that prevented the lightning from happening sometimes. Also I got the tutorial-screen when I started the game the second time.
I like the artstyle of the menu, but then the game itself is completely different, it doesn't really fit together.
